PJFC Easter Update (bumper edition)

29 Mar by PJFC President (Rob Spurr)

Hi everyone.

It was great to see the Sherrin in action at numerous practise matches last weekend. Thanks to Brad Stammers and Jarran Niel for sorting the grounds and fixtures. With two weeks to go until Round 1, our 15 teams are in great shape to enjoy a successful 2024 season.

A particular welcome is extended to new our members plus players/parents from Doncaster (Youth Boys) and Ivanhoe(U10s Boys) who will join forces with Parkside for 2024.

A few updates;

1.Stack TeamApp

Now that teams are settled, your Team Managers will post official club posts including match details through Stack Team App. The R1 fixture will be sent this week. Most teams will retain a parent WattsApp group running for informal comms.

2.AFL Coates Talent League

Congratulations to Parkside’s own Marlo Graham (Northern Knights), Mingara Clark (Oakleigh Chargers) and Jack Ison (Oakleigh Chargers) for their selection in the AFL Talent League program for 2024!

3.Merchandise

Damien’s online shop is open for business Merch. Red shorts are in stock!

4.PSE1 – Season Kick Off!

Our first Pleasant Sunday Evening on April 21 will be a community affair with food trucks, music, stalls and activities. Details coming !

The senior club will also have a season launch on April 20 with the unveiling of their 2 flags from 2023.

5.Nets
Our treasurer Dan McFarlane has secured an AFL grant to construct netting at the northern end of Pitcher Park. Construction will commence soon. Well done to Dan!

6.Seddon Reserve

This year we will be utilising Seddon Reserve as a second home ground for some training and match fixtures. Seddon Reserve is a 5-minute drive from Pitcher Park and we thank our friends at the West Ivanhoe JFC for their generosity in allowing us to share the oval.

7.Team Managers

Dan Boulton has this week conducted training with our TM volunteers. Please support our volunteers as they get our 2024 season moving.
