Hi everyone.
Only 4 sleeps to Round1 and our best wishes go out to the players pulling on the Devils jumper for the first time.
As per our
RECIPE values, let’s remember to enjoy our footy whilst respecting officials, teammates and opponents this Sunday.
1.Warm Up topsOur new warm-up tops have arrived. Dan McFarlane will be at Pitcher Park Sunday 9-12am for pick-up. We suggest that teams/friendship groups coordinate and arrange group pick-ups to avoid congestion.
2.Child safetyJo Di Ciero is our Vice President and Child Safety Officer. Jo will make some time with each of the teams over the next few weeks to introduce herself and provide some high-level information to our players around this important topic.
Parkside is committed to ensuring that all players engaging in community sport have the right to Be Safe, Feel Safe, Play Safe and most importantly Have Fun. We operate under Victorian Child Safe Standards and as per guidelines set out by the AFL and YJFL
Jo can be contacted at
welfare@pjfc.com.au on anything welfare or Child Safety related.
3. Kick Off PSE Apr 21 + request for R1 match highlights.Planning for our first Pleasant Sunday Evening is well advanced and we’re hoping to see Parkside families out in force for our season Kick Off event.
It should be a fun night for the community with a Welcome to Country, food/drink options (Payg) and some light entertainment.
We’re also hoping to test our new scoreboard by playing some highlights from Round 1 at the event. Please designate someone to take a few clips of close up play and send through to Sam at
https://oz-footy.com/#/standard_page.php?pageid=87613so he can splice something together in time. Instructions are provided on the link.
Thanks to our committee volunteers, coaches and TMs who have worked hard to get our teams on the park this week.
Good luck on Sunday.
Rob Spurr
President
