Smoke Free Policy
The PJFC recognises that Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) is hazardous to health and that non-smokers should be protected from exposure to tobacco smoke.
Accordingly the PJFC has developed the following policy to apply to all PJFC facilities and activities. This policy applies to all members, administrators, officials, coaches, players and visitors of the Club.
Facilities
- Smoking will not be permitted on any Club playing arena.
- All Change Rooms and Toilet Blocks are to be 100% smoke free.
- Smoking will not be permitted in any outdoor spectator viewing areas.
- Cigarettes will not be sold at any time from Club facilities.
Functions
- All Club functions, including dinners, fundraising events, meetings and social occasions are to be 100% smoke free.
- Invitations, menus etc. to reinforce the smoke free status of event.
- Cigarette butt bins will be supplied at doorway entrances, encouraging smokers to dispose of cigarettes before entering indoor areas.
PJFC Officials
PJFC officials are to refrain from smoking whilst acting in an official capacity. PJFC players will refrain from smoking whist in uniform.
Non-compliance procedures
PJFC Committee members will police the Smoke Free Policy on match days and at official functions.
Non-compliance with the Policy will be handled according to the following process:
- Explanation of the Club's policy on smoking to person, including the identification of areas in which smoking is allowed.
- In the case of continued non-compliance with the policy, PJFC Committee members will use their discretion as to the steps to be taken, which may include asking the person to leave the premises or function.
